Our Story

A FAMILY BUSINESS

Founded in 1976 by McKinley Battle, Battle's Transportation, Inc. (BTI) has grown from its humble beginnings in 1976 to a highly visible company today known as one of the best transportation companies in the Greater Washington, DC metropolitan area.   BTI provides Transportation Management and Consulting Services in addition to offering clients a diversified fleet which includes Passenger Vans, NEMT Wheelchair Vans, Minivans, Minibuses, Yellow School Buses, and Motor Coach Buses.   


BTI is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that has provided transportation management services on behalf of federal, state, and local agencies, corporations, non-profits, and individuals for almost 40 years in the DC Metropolitan Area. BTI’s experience spans program management, government, healthcare, paratransit, travel services, public, athletics, and shuttle services transportation, etc. Battle’s is a District of Columbia Certified Business Enterprise that employs over 75 individuals.​

 
 

Our Team

MCKINLEY BATTLE

PRESIDENT & CEO

Mr. Battle is the cornerstone of Battle's Transportation. He has a "hands on" philosophy and provides guidance and direction to the managers and employees of the company. With over 36 years of experience in para transit and the passenger transportation industry in general, he is knowledge of ADA guidelines in all aspects of the operation and works with his staff to ensure contractual compliance. He has successfully managed his multi-million dollar company and continues to be the leader of his management team.

THOMAS DOMINIQUE

COO/CFO

Thomas Dominique joined Battle’s Transportation, Inc. in 2013 as a consultant and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer overseeing all financial activities. In 2014, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer serving as strategic advisor to the CEO and responsible for all aspects of contract implementation, on-boarding, compliance, reporting and analysis, legal, communications, technology and strategic reviews. Mr. Dominique graduated from Howard University with a Bachelors and MBA in Finance.

BRIAN JACKSON

OPERATIONS & SAFETY SUPERVISOR

Brian C. Jackson is an industry veteran who has over 15+ years of experience in transportation and logistics ranging in para-transit, distribution trucking, pupil transportation and most recently mass transit. Jackson has garnered a wide arrange of knowledge and a leadership style that is both efficient and results driven. A native of the Washington, DC area, Jackson graduated from Liberty University (Lynchburg, Va) in 1999 and is the newly appointed operations and safety supervisor at Battle’s Transportation Inc. in Washington, DC.

TARSHA FITZGERALD

DIRECTOR OF SALES & MARKETING

Tasha Fitzgerald is a dynamic innovative leader in marketing, sales, media, public relations and business development with 20+ years of experience.  Ms. Fitzgerald has a diverse track record of marketing, sales and brand management success in the transportation, healthcare, radio and television industries. She is very passionate about establishing strategic marketing initiatives and is ambitious about excelling in tough, challenging or competitive markets with a global perspective. Tarsha graduated from Johnson and Wales University, Providence, Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.

CLIFTON RYLAND

FLEET MANAGER

Clifton Ryland has been employed at Battle's Transportation, Inc. for 14 years. He started at BTI as a Dispatcher/Driver. He worked in the role as Dispatcher for numerous years. At Battle's, Cliff now serves as the Fleet and Facilities Manager. He has been in this role for 4 years now. He oversees a maintenance staff of 3 people. He oversees all the building maintenance, ordering of parts, and vehicle maintenance and upkeep.

DANIELLE BATTLE

PAYROLL MANAGER

Danielle Battle has been employed at Battle's Transportation for 18 years. Danielle has been around the transportation industry throughout her whole life. Danielle started in the company as a Driver. After driving for a while, it was decided that Danielle would be able to serve the company better in administrative role. She was promoted to Office Assistant and she quickly moved to the Billing department. Currently, Danielle serves as the Payroll Manager at Battle's. Danielle oversees all payroll matters including employment verification.
