Our Story

A FAMILY BUSINESS

Founded in 1976 by McKinley Battle, Battle's Transportation, Inc. (BTI) has grown from its humble beginnings in 1976 to a highly visible company today known as one of the best transportation companies in the Greater Washington, DC metropolitan area.   BTI provides Transportation Management and Consulting Services in addition to offering clients a diversified fleet which includes Passenger Vans, NEMT Wheelchair Vans, Minivans, Minibuses, Yellow School Buses, and Motor Coach Buses.   


BTI is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that has provided transportation management services on behalf of federal, state, and local agencies, corporations, non-profits, and individuals for almost 40 years in the DC Metropolitan Area. BTI’s experience spans program management, government, healthcare, paratransit, travel services, public, athletics, and shuttle services transportation, etc. Battle’s is a District of Columbia Certified Business Enterprise that employs over 75 individuals.​

MCKINLEY BATTLE

FOUNDER & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Mr. Battle is the cornerstone of Battle's Transportation. He has a "hands on" philosophy and provides guidance and direction to the managers and employees of the company. With over 36 years of experience in para transit and the passenger transportation industry in general, he is knowledgeable of ADA guidelines in all aspects of the operation and works with his staff to ensure contractual compliance. He has successfully managed his multimillion-dollar company and continues to be the leader of his management team.

THOMAS DOMINIQUE

EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Thomas Dominique currently serves as an Executive Officer at Battle’s Transportation, Inc. + RHG Group, Inc. (CEO), a regional diversified transportation company with offices and/or operations in Washington, DC Metropolitan area and Philadelphia, PA. In this role, he develops corporate strategy and serves as a strategic advisor to the Founder/Board Chairman/President. Mr. Dominique previously served as COO & CFO.  Mr. Dominique graduated from Howard University with a Bachelors and MBA in Finance.

BRIAN JACKSON

GENERAL MANAGER

Brian C. Jackson is an industry veteran who has over 20 years of experience in transportation and logistics ranging from para-transit, distribution trucking, pupil transportation, mass transit, government contracting, project management,  CBA negotiations and workforce development. In addition to serving as GM, Brian also leads the Battle's Transportation, Inc. Commercial Driving School, a new venture launched in 2021.  Jackson has garnered a wide array of knowledge and a leadership style that is both efficient and results driven. A native of the Washington, DC area, Jackson graduated from Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA) in 1999.

ROOSEVELT DAVIS

FLEET & SAFETY MANAGER

Roosevelt Davis joins Battle’s Transportion, Inc.

with over 20 years of safety training and fleet management experience.  Most recently, he served as Fleet Manager at Seabury Resources For Aging where he managed a fleet of 60+ vehicles.  Also, as a CDL holder, Mr. Davis has over 30+ years of Behind The Wheel (“BTW”) experience.  

 

Mr. Davis brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise with the goal of making BTI the leader in DOT fleet, safety, and driver compliance.

MAHTEM TIRUNEH

HR & PAYROLL MANAGER

Mahtem Tiruneh currently serves as HR/Payroll Manager and brings over 24 years of financial management, payroll administration and HR management experience.  Mahtem oversees all HR/payroll matters including internal/external audits, onboarding, tax filings and employment verification.  Prior to joining Battle's, she worked at

John C. Flood Inc. as Payroll Manager where she managed and transmitted payroll.  Mrs. Tiruneh graduated from Commercial College, Ethiopia with an Associate Degree - Accounting.  She also obtained her Certified Payroll Processing Certification - Ethiopia.
